Reader’s Note
6 out of 10
Reread because I wanted the trilogy fresh, not because I wanted this. The siege is a stall — Vin and Elend spend eleven chapters wondering whether they're good enough for each other. That's the part I'd forgotten, and can you blame me?

middle book syndrome, and I say that as someone who defends middle books. the siege is genuinely great. Vin spends most of it having a feelings crisis. we do not talk about Zane. seven, and the last stretch drags it up there by itself.7 out of 10@hollowknightfan99

Second go, first since 2015. Half of it has fallen over in replication since — I kept checking chapters against my phone as I read, which is a strange way to spend an evening. The material on how badly we remember pain has held.7 out of 10Thinking, Fast and Slow
