Welcome to IBDB

Every reader is a curator

Shelve what you are reading, rate what you finish, and follow the readers whose taste you trust. The books worth your time surface on their own.

In rotation

New to the stacks

The most recent books to land in the catalogue. New to us, not necessarily new.

The shelves are quiet for now. New arrivals will land here.

Built by members

This stretch of the front page belongs to member reviews and lists. It fills as the community reads. Yours could be the first thing on the shelf.

What's resonating

The last thing readers said as they closed the back cover.

Built by members

Shelves members built on purpose, in the order they meant.

In the Margins

Curators leave a line next to individual books on their lists. Not a review, just the reason it is on the shelf.

The margins are blank. The first note is waiting to be written.

The whole idea

Nothing on IBDB is ranked by a deal, a promotion, or a publisher. Somebody read it, shelved it, and wrote down why.

The stacks

The books this community keeps, counted by how many shelves they sit on. A standing count, not a weekly one.

The catalogue is still warming up. Shelved favourites will surface here soon.
