  Half of us listened rather than read it and Yvonne kept saying "but her voice though", which isn't a point about the book. Chicago chapters lovely. White House chapters read like a press release, and I do like her.

  Do you know how long six women can spend on whether an American bloke should have written this? Ninety minutes. Then Yvonne said "yes but did you enjoy it" and the room went quiet, and I'd said I liked it earlier, when it was safe.

  By the end Deborah had her sleeve at her eyes, and Deborah doesn't do that, she gives everything a seven. The plague chapter. Fiona wouldn't discuss it and went home early. Nine from me, nine from her too I think.
