about halfway and having a lovely time?

Okay so I'm somewhere around the middle, the bit with the Them and the bikes, and I'm having a genuinely lovely time with this.

I picked it up because my brother has been going on at me about it since roughly 2019 and he finally just put his copy in my bag when I went home at Easter, which is honestly the only reason I ever start anything.

Aziraphale and Crowley are perfect and I don't have a great deal more to say than that. The bit where Crowley shouts at his houseplants. The bookshop that doesn't want any customers. I keep reading lines out loud to my flatmate, who isn't reading it and does not care.

What I'm less sure about is the plot? There are a LOT of people in this book — a lot. There's the witch and the witchfinders and the delivery man and the four horsepeople, and every time it cuts away from the angel and the demon I can feel my attention slide off sideways. Maybe that's just what happens with two authors. Maybe it all clicks together later. I genuinely don't know yet.

Also I have started The Book Thief, which was a tactical error, because now they're competing and Good Omens is losing on sheer sadness points.

Eight so far. Provisionally. Ask me again in October and I'll probably still be on the same page.
