Reader’s Note
8 out of 10
She reads it herself and that's the whole reason to do it in audio. Nineteen hours, I ran it at 1.25 and dropped back to normal for the chapters about her dad. Queue was 88 when I joined. Worth every week of it!

Half of us listened rather than read it and Yvonne kept saying "but her voice though", which isn't a point about the book. Chicago chapters lovely. White House chapters read like a press release, and I do like her.6 out of 10@bookclubdropout

The South Side chapters are the book. Everything after the second campaign reads as though a committee sat in on it, politely. I've reserved it twice for other people since, which is my only real measure of anything.7 out of 10@margaretreads

Every mother in the country has this on hold at all times. Waited seven weeks. It's nice! That is the review.7 out of 10The Thursday Murder Club
The Book Thief reviewed by @libbyoverdrive
Sixteen hours and the narrator has a lovely voice for it, very warm, but I ran it at 1.6 and I think that was too fast for what it's doing. Seven, with the caveat that I probably shortchanged it. Queue was only 9!7 out of 10The Book Thief
Gone Girl (Special Edition) reviewed by @libbyoverdrive
Borrowed it on a Friday, done by Sunday, and then spent the whole of Monday arguing with a colleague about whether you're supposed to like anyone in it. Seven. Great queue turnover on this one, three days.7 out of 10Gone Girl (Special Edition)
